How to Help
We currently need volunteers to help with with the daily operation of the shelter as well as transporting animals to and from veterinary clinics and with fundraising events. If you would like to volunteer at the shelter and help with the daily operation of the shelter, check out the volunteer page for dates and times of volunteer orientation sessions.
Of course, we, also, gladly accept and appreciate donations. A list of donation opportunities and items needed can be found on the donations page.

Another great way to help us is by shopping at Mega Pick N Save. Sign up for a Rewards Card and select New Life Pet Adoption Center as your cause. If you already have a card, you can change it to NLPAC. A percentage of your grocery purchase is sent to NLPAC every month.

Thanks for helping spread the word about how to stop puppy mills! The legislation being proposed is called
LRB 2448/2, the Commercial Dog Breeders Licensure Bill. The passage of this bill is very important, as it provides the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) the power to investigate, inspect and fine those who are not in compliance.
To find out who your state legislators are, go to www.legis.wi.us If you don't know who your legislators are, you can find out who they are and also find their personal web page with this link.
The website for the Wisconsin Humane Society is www.wihumane.org There is additional information about puppy mills and the legislation there.
There is a very informative article about puppy mills in the January issue of Milwaukee Magazine. It is titled "Puppy Hell" and was written by Mary Van de Kamp Nohl. You can read the article on-line at www.milwaukeemagazine.com and searching Puppy Hell.
You can also help to feed shelter animals by checking out www.freekibble.com There is a trivia question on the site, and by answering the question you will donate 10 pieces of kibble to shelter animals. Twelve year old Mimi Ausland started the site last year and has helped provide over 1 million meals to various shelters around the country.
